Silk Story is for the delight of all who love the luxurious, lustrous magic of silk and other natural fibers.
We are a small and very enthusiastic team, guided not by any deep knowledge of the industry or proven formula for success, but by our passion for soft, natural fabrics, an eye for the unusual, a commitment to innovation, quality and compelling value, and a desire to make a go of a venture that we thoroughly enjoy.
We look for uncommonly creative, artistic and sustainable uses of silk, develop products that best showcase the artisans’ skills and the fiber’s versatility, and share our success with the communities that help create our products.
We constantly research and refine our products. We work only with artisans who share our high standards. Everything we make has our stamp of innovative design and meticulous construction, is responsibly and ethically made, reasonably priced and easy to acquire, use and maintain.

 | Arun Jain After decades of helping his industrial clients be more energy efficient, Arun invented a new career for himself as founder and creative director of Silk Story. In 2008, while living in Shanghai, he found a love for all things silk. Travels deep into China's heartland revealed unusual uses of silk in everyday life and simple homes, as well as a wealth of stunning craftsmanship in weaving, stitching and embroidery. Together they began updating traditional Chinese bedding structures, fabrics, and colors for western settings. His engineer's penchant for tinkering and perfection found creative expression through their skilled, patient hands. His small, casual collection quickly grew, as friends and family first, and clients soon thereafter, wanted more. A year later, Silk Story morphed from hobby to full time passion. Arun has dual master's and a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This email address is being protected from spambots.  | Jenny Chen grew up in Shanghai and is an equally avid fan of silken treasures. She spent a decade in marketing and development of a variety of consumer products. In 2009 she accompanied Arun on her first visit to silk producers; less than a month later, she was on board full time as co-founder of Silk Story. With her artistic flair, attention to detail and organization skills, she manages our sampling, production and logistics.  | Samira Jain provides the critical design review of all our products and communications. She is an honors graduate of National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, India and holds a master's in Design Management from the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India.  | Allen Wang hails from Hubei province in China. He joined Silk Story in August 2015. He is a veteran of the home textile industry and has over 20 years of experience with sourcing, sampling, production and quality control.
